“ My goal is for you to leave my treatment room feeling lighter and clearer than when you came in.”

Treatments

Each session begins with a 5 minute assessment, longer if it is your first visit. This may include some orthopaedic testing to get a more accurate impression of what the underlying issue may be.

Once I design a tailored treatment for you, the hands on portion of the appointment begins. Massage therapy is very subjective and everyone’s threshold for pressure is different. I will always check in throughout the massage because communication is key for you to enjoy your treatment and achieve best results. After your treatment, I will go through my findings and suggest some home care exercises to help with your recovery.

Massage Therapy.

Registered Massage Therapy addresses the soft tissue and joints in the body. It can help alleviate your pain, discomfort and help you relax. It can be a relaxing General Swedish Massage or can be more a more focus based, in-depth treatment incorporating Deep Tissue and Trigger Point Therapy.

Massage therapy helps many different issues like chronic headaches, repetitive strain injuries, disc herniations, nerve impingements, sports injuries, to name a few. It is also en excellent treatment to help melt away the day to day stresses.

Applying assessment and palpation skills helps to identify the issues that cause stress, discomfort and sometimes pain to the body. With these tools and advanced techniques, I develop a treatment plan that helps with the treatment and prevention of many different conditions.

Pre-Natal.

Pregnancy massage is an excellent health care treatment for any expectant mother. The physical, emotional and hormonal changes that come along with pregnancy can sometimes be stressful, uncomfortable and even painful.

As the baby grows, so does the body and the many changes that come along with it. Pregnancy massage can alleviate many of the symptoms that include but are not limited to, muscle tension, nerve compression, ligament pain, postural imbalances, headaches, sleep deprivation and more.

My job as an RMT is to help make you feel as comfortable as possible throughout each trimester so you can enjoy this time nurturing your baby.

Myofascial Release.

Myofascial release is a treatment that specifically targets the connective tissue that covers muscles. Think of it as Saran Wrap that is covering your tissues. Fascia is very strong and when it becomes restricted it tightens and can lead to may lead to limited movement, postural deviation, chronic issues and even muscle/joint pain.

Fascia is a continuous form throughout the body and it explains how one area of the body can cause limitations or pain in another part of the body.

The hands on treatment is considered a dry technique, meaning little to no lotion, to the restricted tissue with slow sustained pressure to aid in its release.
